What are the regulations and when do they come in to play?

At present, the laser industry is unregulated. Essentially, this means that there are no strict legal government guidelines for the practitioner to adhere to, except for an accredited course, which we do offer here at The Laser Skin Solutions Academy.

However, at some point in the future, the date of which is still to be determined, it will be a legal requirement for a practitioner to have a level 4 qualification.

In our opinion, even though this isn’t the law at present, it would be our recommendation for ALL practitioners to gain this qualification. Why? Because at some point, potentially in the near future, the practitioner will have to have this from a legal perspective.

In addition, insurance companies are asking for practitioners to have this qualification and some local authorities insist upon this qualification to gain a practicing licence.

Moreover and in our opinion – A laser machine is a powerful tool. The practitioner is using it on the body and on the face and without the correct knowledge, could bring harm to their clients, or, effective results may not be achieved as the knowledge, understanding and expertise just isn’t there.

We don’t, as of yet, know when these regulations will be coming into effect. But why not get ahead of the game and gain the further knowledge an qualification to ensure you are offering the best service to your clients. Get in touch to find out more about our training programmes.
